Grace University - Academics
General Information
Individuals who enroll in an I-Studies course are registered as a student of one of the colleges of Grace University. All I-Studies courses that are started become part of the student's official college transcript. As such, grades that are earned from I-Studies courses become part of the student's grade point average (GPA) and directly influence the student's academic standing and eligibility for financial aid. All course pre-requisites must be fulfilled according to the University policies.
Students
The I-Studies courses are available to:
~~ Students who are enrolled in a course for credit as either an Undergraduate student in Grace College of the Bible, a Graduate student in Grace College of Graduate Studies, or an Adult Education student (ie. Excel student) in Grace College of Extended Education.
~~ High School students who are taking a course while exploring the possibility of enrolling in Grace College of the Bible ("taste and see" students). These students are admitted into the College. Consequently, the grade that is earned becomes part of the student's academic record when they enter the College.
Courses
The Independent Studies (I-Studies) Program provides quality, college-level instruction to a geographically diverse student population.
The course material that is taught is the same, or comparable to, the material that is used in on-campus classes.
Students have the opportunity to interact, primarily through electronic media, with the faculty member that is assigned to the class.
A student may enroll in an I-Studies course at any time unless the student is using financial aid or is enrolled in the course to fulfill his/her academic status requirements.
The course enrollment period is 16 weeks.
Enrollment
Enrollment is initiated by going to the Grace Univeristy website and following the same procedures on IQ Web as when registering for on-campus classes. If questions arise contact the Grace University Registrar's office at 402.449.2811. All Undergraduate students in Grace College of the Bible need to have approval from the Academic Vice President to enroll in an I-Studies course.
Students who are enrolling in an I-Studies course along with in-class courses will do so on IQ Web along with all their courses.
Students enrolling in I-Studies courses only will do so on the Grace University website through IQ Web.
High School students begin the process of enrolling for an I-Studies course through the Admissions Office.
