Grace University - Academics

(may be taken for 0 or 1 credits)
Grace University Chorale
The Chorale has been a significant part of life at Grace for over 50 years, yet has had only five conductors. Typically a 40-voice ensemble, it has toured extensively. In recent years it has toured Australia twice, and Germany and Austria in 2005. Audition required.
Grace University Women’s Choir
This is a recently-formed ensemble. Audition required.
After a few years in hibernation, the band came back into existence in 1995. It has an active performance schedule, and in recent years has toured to Denver, Chicago, Oklahoma, and Canada. This ensemble includes community members as well as Grace students. Audition required.
Worship Band
Our newest ensemble. The worship band prepares and leads worship music in contemporary worship settings. This group is lead by an active Omaha worship leader. The band is comprised of up to 10 students selected by audition: guitar, bass, keyboard, sound tech, solo vocalists, drums, etc.
A chorus for the entire Grace family. All our welcome to sing, no audition required. Typically this chorus joins forces with the Chorale and Women's Choir to perform a major choral work with orchestra. Previous concerts have featured performances of Handel's Messiah, Elijah by Mendelssohn, Faure Requiem, Mozart Requiem, and Rutter Gloria.

Ambassadors
This is Grace’s most active group. It is on tour nearly every weekend. The music features a “Praise and Worship” style. Audition required.
Brass Ensemble
The Brass Ensemble takes its first tour Spring 2006. The challenging music it performs has a lot of pizzazz! This ensemble includes community members as well as Grace students. Audition required.
Clarinet Quartet
With rather informal beginnings in 2002, this group is now quite an established entity, performing frequently and going on its first tour in Spring 2006. Audition required.
Brass Trio
This ensemble includes faculty member Jeff James on trombone and other area brass musicians.
In Omaha there are many bands, orchestras, and choral organizations open to college--student participation. Ask us for detialis if you are interested.
