Grants and Scholarships

Scholarships and grants are forms of aid that help students pay for their education, but do not have to be paid back. Scholarships and grants come from a variety of university, federal, state, and private sources.

First Choice Scholarship Deadline – March 1, 2010

This award is an additional $2,000 awarded to incoming students who have completed the following by March 1, 2010

  • Completed the admissions application process
  • Paid the $150 tuition deposit (non-refundable but goes towards your tuition in the fall)

This will be awarded at $500 for each of 4 consecutive semesters while the student is enrolled full-time, lives on-campus and maintains a GPA of 2.0 or more.

*Note: The amount will be $500 per year for those students who wish to live off-campus.

Grace Scholarship

This award is granted annually and is based on an incoming GPA of 2.5 or higher and on a 4.0 scale. (College GPA will be used for students that transfer in 25 or more semester hours)

Note: The total of institutional scholarships and grants cannot exceed the cost of tuition. Each situation must be reviewed in light of availability of funds, state and federal regulations, and the university's financial aid policies.

The 2010-2011 Trustee Scholarship Program provides several special scholarship opportunities for traditional undergraduate students:

Sophomore and up Scholarship

These scholarships are available to returning and/or transfer students who have attained the level of sophomore, junior or senior as of the upcoming Fall semester. Please fill out this form to be considered. Deadline is April 16 for upcoming Fall registration.


Federal and State Grants

Federal grants include Pell, FSEOG, ACG, and SMART grants. These require you to file a FAFSA and meet criteria determined by the state and federal government. Nebraska also has a grant program for Pell eligible students who are residents of Nebraska. Apply early to see if you are eligible for any of these awards.
(College GPA will be used for students that transfer in 25 or more semester hours)
